Youth Scholarship Fund
The Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association is pleased to be able to offer a one-time scholarship of up to $500.00 to anyone who has participated in CRCA youth cow horse events. To be eligible for consideration, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Application must be received prior to the end of the calendar year in which the applicant turns 19 years old.
2. Must have competed in the Youth Bridle and/or Youth Limited classes for at least two calendar years within 3 years preceding application and be a current member. Applicant must also have attended six different events (i.e., Sagebrush Classic is one event consisting of two separate horse show classes, but only counts as one event for scholarship criteria, even if applicant enters both horse show classes.)
3. Applicant must submit a 1,000-word essay answering the following questions: How has the CRCA helped you? What skills have you gained from showing horses in the CRCA and what advice can you give future scholarship applicants?
4. Must be currently enrolled in an institution of post-secondary education OR a senior in high school who has been admitted to an institution of post-secondary education (Note: funds for a scholarship awarded will not be disbursed until proof of enrollment is submitted).
The CRCA’s scholarship funds are limited and we cannot guarantee that every applicant will be awarded the maximum amount or any amount. If applications exceed available funds, the CRCA Board will exercise its discretion in awarding funds based upon factors including, but not necessarily limited to, the applicant’s level of participation in CRCA and the status of the applicant’s education. Also, please be aware that any individual can receive only one scholarship award.
